Rochester Artisans ~ Empowering Creativity

What started as an online storage site for a spreadsheet of craft show contact information in 2009 has blossomed into so much more, clearly fulfilling a need in our community.

Our Rochester Artisans Yahoo site has been developed over time to include most of the applications for shows listed on our annual Shows sheet, which is a chronological informational listing of as many Rochester area craft shows and art festivals as we can get our hands on. We have a section of Links to members’ Facebook pages (including our own Rochester Artisans Facebook page), business tools and sites. I like to think of us as a one-stop shop for all things “show business” related.

Our Yahoo email list now totals over 375 members – including artisans, shop owners, show promoters and gallery directors. Everyone is welcome, from emerging artists to seasoned veterans. We all share knowledge, experience, support and friendship.

In 2010, we opened our own website, RochesterArtisans.com. This site is used for publicizing the work, websites and shows for Rochester Artisan members. We now have pages for galleries, artist-friendly stores, classes around town and online and ways to use our creativity in charitable ways. My vision is the website is the go-to site for customers, show promoters, gift shop owners, gallery directors and artists alike.

We have partnered with the Shriners organization to hold our first co-produced craft show, June 16. (A few spaces remain; information and application are found here.)

I have no idea what the future holds for Rochester Artisans – we just keep opening one door after another to see what’s next. Would you like to join us? Click the purple Join Now button in the sidebar of our website.
